In order to accomplish its vision, the SSCC intends to act as Catalysts and Facilitators bringing together like minded experts, academics, practitioners and persons in a "Bottom Up” community needs sensitive approach to influence “Top Down” regional, national and international decision makers to promote the exchange of good practices that will strengthen peace and promotes sustainable development within south-south cooperation.
Priority concerns include post-conflict reconciliation, education as a tool of inclusion, culture and identity, and protection of the environment. Public private partnership will be encouraged to promote sustainable tourism, artisanal fisheries and trade in post conflict period.
Colombia will be the focal point in this effort to establish a vibrant dialogue with other conflict and post conflict countries, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia/Pacific, the Middle East and the Balkans.
The overarching goal is to promote closer cooperation between Sub-Saharan countries and those with large scale afro descendant population in the Caribbean, Central and South America in post conflict era, but with windows to Asia/Pacific, the Middle East, and the Balkans..
