Pre-Launch of the Programme the Culture of Peace and Security in Africa: A Quest for Stewardship and Cooperative Engagement’
On 16th March, SSCC held a consultation in Accra with 14 African ambassadors to Ghana, and representatives of Ghanian Government, concerning the programme ‘Culture of Peace and Security in Africa: The Quest for Stewardship and Cooperative Engagement”, convened by the Director of UNESCO for Ghana, Mr. Abdourahamane Diallo, and SSCC.
The objective was to explore how cooperation can be developed through testing a suggested programme. Questions were asked around challenges, priorities and socio-cultural factor threats on country levels.
SSCC is pleased with results of this first exploratory meeting which will be followed up shortly with further consultation, thereafter a development phase, and finally a multi-annual programme.
There is a lot of work ahead!
