SSCC Policy Advisory Board member, Mme Hedva Ser is one of the leading proponents of UNESCO’s cultural diversity programme, as enshrined in the 2005 Convention on Cultural Diversity, through her symbol of peace for UNESCO – the sculpture Tree of Peace. Moreover, that statue, as well as her work on Art Camps throughout the world, has prompted Andorra to propose to UNESCO a programme which was supported by 77 countries, called Road to Peace.
SSCC is delighted to announce that the Tree of Peace sculpture will be erected in November 2025 in Marawi, which was the epicentre of a devastating civil conflict on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines. Another Tree of Peace, one in Quito, Ecuador, in the first quarter of 2026. Mme Ser also acts as an adviser to the SSCC docufiction Ulysses from Ghana, which was already executed in 2021, and also on any future productions.
